Matt Kibbe is President and Chief Community Organizer at Free the People, an educational organization turning the next generation on to the values of liberty. Kibbe is also an Executive Producer at CRTV, where he produces “The Deadly Isms,” a documentary series about the dangers of all flavors of authoritarianism. In 2004 Kibbe founded FreedomWorks, where he served as President for 11 years. Steve Forbes said, “Kibbe has been to FreedomWorks what Steve Jobs was to Apple.”
Daniel J. Mitchell
Dan Mitchell is a public policy economist in Washington, D.C. He has been a Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute, a Senior Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, an economist for Senator Bob Packwood and the Senate Finance Committee, and a Director of Tax and Budget Policy at Citizens for a Sound Economy. He has published in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Investor’s Business Daily and The Washington Times. Dr. Mitchell received a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He holds a PhD in economics from George Mason University.
Markus Tomaschitz is director of education and research at the Frank Stronach Institute. He has held various executive positions in companies across Europe and the US. Dr. Tomaschitz holds an M.B.A. from California State University, East Bay, and a Ph.D. from Karl Franzens University in Graz, Austria.
Jeffrey A. Tucker is Editorial Director for the American Institute for Economic Research. He is also a managing partner of Vellum Capital, Honorary Fellow of Mises Brazil, founder and Chief Liberty Officer of Liberty.me, an adviser to blockchain application companies, past editorial director of the Foundation for Economic Education and Laissez Faire Books, founder of the CryptoCurrency Conference, and author of many thousands of articles in the scholarly and popular press and eight books in 5 languages.

Mary Lucia Darst – Research Intern
Mary Lucia Darst is our spring intern from January to April 2018. She graduated from Columbia University with an MA in History and Literature. In addition to working as a writer and researcher, she is a filmmaker and an active classical musician.
Federico N. Fernández – Senior Fellow
Federico N. Fernández joined the Austrian Economics Center as a Research Fellow in 2013. In addition, he is President of Fundación Internacional Bases in Rosario, Argentina, and the President of the Organizing Committee of the International Conference The Austrian School of Economics in the 21st Century, which has taken place every two years since 2006 in Rosario. Federico is a member of the Scientific Board of the Hayek Institute. His works haven been published among others by Newsweek, The Conservative, FEE, the Mises Institute, and CapX.
Martin Gundinger – Research Fellow
Martin Gundinger joined the Austrian Economics Center in 2016 as a Research Fellow. In addition to his research tasks, he is also maintaining the websites of the AEC, Free Market Road Show, and European Resource Bank. He is also a Research Fellow at the Hayek Institute.
Felix Kleibel – Research Fellow
Felix Kleibel joined the AEC in September 2017. He is responsible for conducting research, writing studies, and is also helping in the organization of events. Felix is a Research Fellow at the Hayek Institute as well.
Barbara Kolm – Director and Founder
Barbara Kolm is Director of the Austrian Economics Center, and President of the Friedrich A. v. Hayek Institute in Vienna. Being a worldwide networker, she uses these abilities to promote free market policies; in addition, she is a frequent speaker on public policy related issues, especially on deregulation and competition topics, the Future of Europe and Austrian Economics. Barbara is an Associate Professor of Austrian Economics at the University of Donja Gorica, Montenegro and a member of the Board of Business Consultants of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and a Member of the Mont Pélerin Society. She is President of the European Center for Economic Growth.
Resmije Kurbogaj-Ajeti – Adminstrative Intern
Resmije Kurbogaj-Ajeti is an administrative intern at the AEC. She assists in event and project management, accounting, and occasionally writes article for the blog.
Britt Schier – Head of Office
Britt Schier is the Head of Office of the Austrian Economics Center. In her position, she is responsible for external affairs, event management, administrative tasks, Human Resources, and overall, is keeping things ticking over at our office. She is also the Head of Office of the Hayek Institute.
Victoria Schmid – Marketing and Event Coordinator
Victoria Schmid joined the Austrian Economics Center in February 2017. She is responsible for organizing events, including the Free Market Road Show and European Resource Bank, and is coordinating our marketing strategy. She is also Marketing Coordinator at the Hayek Institute.
Kai Weiss – Research Fellow
Kai Weiss joined the AEC in January 2017. As a Research Fellow, he is responsible for producing content by writing studies and articles. In addition, he is managing the social media pages, is blog editor, and involved in outreach work. Kai is also a board member of the Hayek Institute. His works have been published among others by The American Conservative, Mises Institute, FEE, RealClearMarkets, and CapX.
