
Every person is responsible for his or her own healthcare. However, the recent trend has been to shift this responsibility to the state. This has lead to inefficiency and rising costs. Regulations and taxes stand in the way of the market bond between health insurance providers and consumers. Also, government forced over-coverage leads to the overuse of healthcare services and an experience that is worse for all. Allowing the free market to work in the health sector would lead to lower prices and better service through competition. Healthcare is too important to let politicians decide your coverage; people should be allowed to pick their own efficient, low cost alternatives.
