Echoing the sentiments of participants at the 2013 European Resource Bank meeting held this past weekend in Vienna, a recent Gallup poll indicates a majority of Europeans thinkthe EU is going in the wrong direction. Published Wednesday, 5 June, the poll indicates most citizens in Germany, France, Poland, Denmark, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom are seriously concerned about the growing disconnect between European institutions and voters. Hopefully such discontent will influence EU elections in May 2014 — and lead to a significant change in leadership.
